Filipino Music: the legend of Canseco

I have always loved listening to Original Pilipino Music, long way before Francis M. did "mga kababayan ko", or Gary V. sung "nandito ako". my siblings were dazed to hear me tuning in to alternative stations that played all Filipino music, Basil Valdez, to Joey Ayala, and even before the Eraserhead broke the mainstream media.

Now, i am glad to witness and listen in awe to new breed of young, talented, professional and surprisingly grounded Pinoy idols, as they are called. Japan has the jpop idols, we, have the Pinoy idols - of course my fave among them is sarah geronimo.

but this piece is not about her. or any of the so-called Pinoy Idols. This is about one great songwriter who have long contributed to the Pinoy music scene long way before some of the Pinoy idols were born - Goerge Canseco. The music video was taken from a television show in the Philippines, paying tribute to one great artist of our time.
